An appropriate thought for MLK Day

In praise of grey days, bare trees, and old English ladies

My therapist shared this video with me today. I’ve always loved Fleetwood Mac. Yet before today, I never saw this or heard this. Immediately, it calmed me down. I love the poem. And the voice of the old English lady who reads it. My therapist said, “Sometimes, you have to look hard to see beauty in things. But it’s there.”

So true.

Be and be not afraid

The lyrics of this Tracy Chapman song mean so much to me. They’re even posted on my refrigerator door, and I read them every day. I’m not sure if this is the song’s official video, but I love it. The key to being “not afraid?” It’s taking things one small step at a time. Sometimes, even that’s a challenge. But it’s an ideal. I hope you find this song as inspiring as I do.
